Lead Forensics alternatives: a fair comparison for UK B2B teams

Last checked 8 min read

Information checked 25 September 2026. This is Scout's own comparison, built from each vendor's public website and documents. Sources are listed at the end of the page. Prices are shown in each vendor's own currency and have not been converted.

If you are reviewing Lead Forensics, the main alternatives UK teams look at are Leadfeeder, Leadinfo, Albacross, RB2B and Scout. They all identify the companies visiting your website from their IP addresses. Where they differ is pricing model, contract terms, where your data is processed and how much detail you get about each match.

Who this page is for

This page is for UK B2B marketing and sales teams who use, or are thinking about, Lead Forensics and want to see what else is available before they sign or renew. It covers pricing models, contract terms, identification level and data handling, and it says plainly where Scout is not the best fit.

Lead Forensics is a well-established UK company. It was incorporated in 2010 and has its registered office in Portsmouth.7 It says it is trusted by 10,000 businesses3 and has strong review scores: 4.5 out of 5 on Trustpilot from 990 reviews8 and 4.5 out of 5 on Capterra UK from 259 reviews.9 Many teams are happy with it. If you are, you may not need to change anything.

Why people look for Lead Forensics alternatives

Most people who search for an alternative are looking at price transparency and contract terms rather than the core technology. Lead Forensics does not publish prices, and its standard contract is a fixed term that renews automatically with a set annual increase.

Here is what Lead Forensics' own documents say:

  • Pricing is quoted, based on traffic. "The cost of Lead Forensics is based on how much traffic you're generating to your website."1 The free trial is one week, and "your representative will walk you through your website traffic at the end of the trial."1
  • Contracts renew automatically. Lead Forensics' Master Service Agreement (MSA) says the agreement "shall automatically renew for successive periods each of a duration equal to the Initial Term".2
  • The notice period is 90 days. Either party may end the agreement at the end of a term "by providing the other party with at least 90 days' prior written notice".2
  • There is an annual fee increase. "At each 12 month anniversary of the billable services starting, there will be an annual 10% fee increase on the prior year's fee's."2

In fairness to Lead Forensics, some things buyers assume are not true. It does not charge per user: "The number of users is unlimited and doesn't affect your price."1 Decision-maker contact data is included, supplied by third-party data providers.5 It integrates with Salesforce, HubSpot, Microsoft Dynamics, Pipedrive and Zoho,6 although CRM integration is part of its Automate plan rather than Essentials.1

Some reviewers raise renewal and notice issues. For example, one Capterra UK review mentions a "disputed automatic renewal".9 Those are individual experiences, and most published reviews are positive.89 Read the terms of your own contract, because the initial term and any changes are set in your Commercial Terms.

Lead Forensics alternatives compared

Scout, Leadfeeder, Leadinfo, Albacross and RB2B all publish prices and offer monthly billing. Lead Forensics quotes on request. Scout is not the cheapest option on list price. Several tools start lower, and Leadfeeder has a free plan.

Where Scout is not the best fit:

  • Lowest cost. If budget is the deciding factor, Leadfeeder's free plan and the entry plans from Albacross, Leadinfo and RB2B cost less than Scout's £349 starting price.
  • Database maturity. Lead Forensics has been identifying UK business traffic since the early 2010s and describes its IP database as "the largest owned database of its kind".3 Scout is a newer product. Our own IP data is growing, but we would not claim wider coverage.
  • Integrations. Scout pushes to HubSpot and sends Slack and email alerts, and has a REST API. If you need a native Salesforce, Dynamics, Pipedrive or Zoho integration today, Lead Forensics, Leadfeeder and others list them.610
  • Person-level identification in the US. If your market is the US and you want named individuals, RB2B is built for that.17 Scout identifies companies only.

What Scout does differently

Scout suits UK teams who want to see the price before they talk to anyone, pay monthly, and understand how sure the tool is about each match.

  • Published GBP pricing. Five plans, from £349 to £999 a month, set by the number of identified visits per month. An identified visit is a visit where Scout names the company behind it. Visits we can't identify are free. Above 750 a month is custom. Prices are the full amount you pay. No VAT is added.20 See pricing.
  • Monthly, with no notice period. Cancel in your billing settings and your plan runs to the end of the month you have paid for. Annual billing is optional and adds bonus credits.
  • Contact credits in every plan. Each plan includes Forager credits (bulk contact search, up to 10 contacts per credit) and Scout credits (targeted email reveals).20
  • A confidence score on every match. Every identified company gets a score from 1 to 99, a band (high, medium or low) and a one-line reason. ISP, residential, mobile, VPN and data-centre traffic is flagged and held in the low band, so it never looks like a confirmed company. See how the confidence score works.
  • Search and analytics context. Connect Google Analytics 4 and Google Search Console to see session depth and the search queries associated with each company.
  • UK company, UK and EEA hosting. Scout is run by Swarm Labs IO Ltd, registered in England and Wales. Raw IP addresses are never stored; only salted hashes are kept.21

How to switch from Lead Forensics

You can run Scout alongside Lead Forensics during your notice period, then compare the two on your own traffic before your renewal date.

  1. Find your renewal date. It is in your Commercial Terms. Work back 90 days to find the latest date your written notice needs to arrive.2
  2. Decide early. If you plan to leave, send written notice well before that date and keep proof that it was received.
  3. Start a Scout trial. Sign up, add the Scout snippet to your site's <head> and connect GA4 and Search Console. The trial is 14 days, with no card.
  4. Compare like with like. Over the same days, compare the companies each tool finds, and check a sample of matches against your CRM and your own knowledge of who has been in touch.
  5. Export what you need. Before your Lead Forensics access ends, export any visit history and lists you want to keep.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best alternative to Lead Forensics? It depends on what you need. If you want published prices and monthly billing, Leadfeeder, Leadinfo, Albacross and Scout all publish prices and offer monthly plans. If you want the lowest entry price, Leadfeeder has a free plan and Albacross, Leadinfo and RB2B start lower than Scout. Scout's focus is UK teams who want published GBP pricing, contact credits included and a confidence score on every match.

Is Scout cheaper than Lead Forensics? We can't say. Lead Forensics does not publish its prices; it quotes based on your website traffic.1 Scout's plans are published, starting at £349 a month. Ask Lead Forensics for a quote for your traffic and compare it with the Scout plan that fits your volume.

How long is a Lead Forensics contract? The initial term is set in each customer's Commercial Terms. Lead Forensics' Master Service Agreement says the agreement renews automatically for the same length as the initial term unless either party gives at least 90 days' written notice before the end of the term.2

Can I cancel Scout at any time? Yes. Scout is billed monthly or annually. On a monthly plan you can cancel in your billing settings and your plan stays active until the end of the month you have paid for. There is no notice period.

Does Scout identify individual people? No. Scout identifies the company behind a visit, not the person. Contact details for people at that company are available separately, through credits, from business contact databases. They are not the individuals who visited your site.

Is Scout affiliated with Lead Forensics? No. Scout is an independent product from Swarm Labs IO Ltd. Lead Forensics is a trade mark of its owner and this page is Scout's own comparison, made from publicly available information.

Scout is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to Lead Forensics. Lead Forensics, Leadfeeder, Leadinfo, Albacross and RB2B are trade marks of their respective owners.
